October 2011 - The children in the Monkey's Class were learning the letter 'p', so we developed a pirate theme.  They put a lolly stick in the treasure island to guess where the treasure was!

On 28 April 2011 we held a whole day of celebrations for the Royal Wedding, and what a wonderful time we had.  In the morning all the children arrived in their glory, dressed up as a Prince or Princess, wearing crowns that they made at home during the Easter Holidays.  A morning of fun packed activities took place, from knicker painting, Royal Egg Hunt, a drama workshop and games in the playground.  All age groups took part in these activities.  A lunch of Fish and Chips, followed by an ice-cream and a cup-cake was enjoyed by everyone at Golders Hill School.  After this the younger children went home and the older ones enjoyed an afternoon party with a party entertainer.  All children and staff were given commemorative mugs to remember the occasion. Wishing the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge lots of happiness.

The Kindergarten really enjoyed their time in the snow. Digging, making snow castles with buckets and spades and even a snow bunny.

OWLS - CULTURAL EXCHANGE

This week the Owls had some visitors from a local Japanese school. Their Year 1 children are learning to speak English.  We learned about their culture. We played some communication games with them. We worked together in pairs and then we played some circle games as a group.  As you can see, it was great fun.  Our visitors gave us an origami flower as a gift. We had a picnic snack outside and we played ball games together.
Kindergarten at Work and Play
Kindergarten is a progression from Nursery, therefore the emphasis will still be on learning through play. The curriculum is based on the six areas of learning. Learning is a continuous journey through which children build on their experiences. Every child’s learning journey takes a personal path based on their individual interests and needs.
